Beth + Rob's At-Home Zoom Wedding

Since most of the 2020 weddings are being postponed until next year due to the pandemic and social distancing, couples are getting creative with their wedding plans. Many couples are keeping their original wedding date and having a small ceremony either at home or in their parents’ backyard, and in some cases, guests are joining them virtually via video conference. And while we love the big celebrations and can’t wait until they are possible again, we also love seeing how couples and vendors are adapting to the current situation and creating wonderful memories with these small, intimate weddings.

Beth and Rob did just that with their sweet at-home ceremony and Allie, their photographer, is sharing their story with us today along with some of the beautiful photos she captured of their day!

“Beth and Rob's big wedding celebration had to be postponed to next year, but they celebrated their original date with an intimate elopement ceremony at their home on the Connecticut shoreline instead! Their officiant called in from across the country via Zoom, Beth baked a homemade carrot cake herself, and their friends sent surprise balloons and floral arrangements which they used to decorate their mantle for their ceremony backdrop.”

“Rob and Beth shared beautiful, personalized vows with both smiles and laughter and tears of joy, and their officiant sang “At Last” for them, from all the way in San Francisco. After the ceremony, they had their first dance in their living room while friends and family watched on from online.”

“Then, they took a quick break to go paddleboarding on the cove behind their house! With champagne and local beer to celebrate, they cut their cake and we captured some portraits on their front porch. All of these special details made this elopement day so unique and memorable.”
